Sham 69 : T-Shirt
Sham 69 is an English punk rock band formed in 1976 in Hersham, Surrey. Known for their raw sound and working-class ethos, they became prominent in the late 1970s UK punk scene. The original lineup included frontman Jimmy Pursey, guitarist Neil Harris, bassist Johnny Goodfornothing, and drummer Billy Bostik.
Their breakthrough came with the single "I Don't Wanna" and the album "Tell Us the Truth" in 1978. They achieved mainstream success with hits like "Borstal Breakout," "If the Kids Are United," and "Hurry Up Harry." Despite internal tensions and violence at their shows due to the skinhead subculture, they maintained popularity until their initial breakup in 1980. The band reformed in various incarnations over the years, with Pursey remaining the consistent member. They continued to influence punk and Oi! bands with their straightforward, anthemic style.
