The Stone Roses are an influential English rock band formed in Manchester in 1983. They were pivotal in the "Madchester" movement of the late 1980s and early 1990s, blending alternative rock with dance music. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Ian Brown, guitarist John Squire, bassist Mani (Gary Mounfield), and drummer Reni (Alan Wren).

Their self-titled debut album, released in 1989, is considered one of the greatest British albums ever. It includes iconic tracks like "I Wanna Be Adored," "She Bangs the Drums," and "Fools Gold." Despite the success, internal conflicts and legal disputes led to a hiatus and eventual breakup in 1996.
